In October, ETAP will be joining forces with the Fairfax County Dance Coalition to host its fourth annual gala. This event will showcase a variety of dance styles, such as jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary dance and Indian dance. Discount Dance is the world's biggest online dancewear store, and it has ambassadors and models from renowned dance companies like the New York City Ballet, the American Ballet Theater, Alvin Ailey, the Washington Ballet, the Princess Grace Academy, The Rock School and more. The Christmas program is completed with original programming, sets, costumes and dance numbers that make you feel like you're in New York City watching the Rockettes. The Fairfax County Dance Coalition was established in 1996 by Raynor van der Merwe and Mario Petrides.
It is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that meets the artistic and cultural needs of Fairfax County and Northern Virginia. The New York State Zoo in Thompson Park was created in 1920 when the Northern New York Trust Company donated two white-tailed deer to Thompson Park and the city of Watertown to create a naturalistic exhibit that would give all visitors the chance to appreciate the grace and beauty of these native animals.
