The VADC membership supports our many dance activities, events, and awards that serve our community. In the Coalition Community, we are all important, friendships are made, bonds are strengthened, and families are nourished. Allison and Monica dream of all the dancers finding their home in the DANCE COALITION. In the dancers, these sets of connections were wider (more diffuse); in the musicians, these same connections were stronger, but less diffuse, and showed more coherent bundles of fibers.
Coalition dancers receive training and education in dance history, kinesiology, French vocabulary, and music theory, while obtaining a complete and healthy dance repertoire. Dance education can provide the right environment to support and cultivate excellent mental habits that will not only benefit students in the studio, but will also prove essential in life. Dancing also provides “coordination, balance and proprioceptive training” which may help explain the improvement in mobility and speed when walking, Aguiñaga noted. Persistence Whether it's perfecting a particular movement in class or refining a choreographic piece, persistence is an absolutely essential part of dance education.

The oversexualization of dance has taken hold on television and the dance world, leading to injuries that scar young bodies for life as the pressure to overcome unhealthy body postures has become commonplace. Because it's a low-pressure environment, Dance Coalition allows students to take a break from academic activities. It provides a space where students can escape stress and exercise their mind and body through dance.
In the BAILA randomized controlled trial which included more than 300 older participants those who participated in a Latin dance training program showed significant improvement in their working memory and mobility while having fun.
